After waiting for five years since the promotion examination, Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) employees staged a demonstration demanding the release of the merit list. The protest took place outside Soushali Bhawan and Vikas Bhawan in Salt Lake, where underprivileged students urged authorities to publish the merit list for the ICDS Supervisor Promotion post.
The protesters expressed frustration as the recruitment of new personnel for the position has already commenced, sidelining those who have served in ICDS for an extended period and qualified in the promotion exam.
Many women including Asha employees and Anganwadi colleagues called for Vidhansabha Chalo. Meanwhile, the protesters surrounded Chowrangahi and sat on the middle of the road. ICDC employees demanded that no proposal was made in their interest during the budget session. They also want to talk to Chandrima Bhattacharya.
