Passenger dies mid-flight on Germany-bound Lufthansa plane after coughing up blood

A 63-year-old man passed away on a Lufthansa flight from Bangkok to Munich after coughing up "litres of blood" from his mouth and nose. The incident prompted the plane to return to Bangkok, 90 minutes after departure, as the German national was pronounced dead. Fellow passenger Karin Missfelder described the horrifying scene, noting that the man exhibited cold sweats, rapid breathing, and apathy.

Despite a nurse's assessment that the man urgently needed medical attention, flight officials chose to continue the journey, leading to a worsening of the passenger's condition and ultimately his death. The lack of immediate care and support for the traumatized passengers during the two-hour wait was criticized by witnesses.
