The arrest of Trinamool leader Shivprasad Hazra, known as Shibu, in Sandeshkhali has stirred a range of emotions among the residents. Shibu Hazra, Sandeshkhali-2 Block Trinamool President, faced arrest on Saturday evening under nine sections, following allegations that led to angry protests and the burning of his poultry farm by villagers.
Shibu Hazra was produced in the Basirhat Sub-Divisional Court on Sunday, with police documents mentioning him as an 'influential person.' Amid slogans of 'thief-thief,' local women celebrated the arrest by distributing sweets, expressing relief and a hope for peace. However, there is lingering tension as residents anticipate the apprehension of another individual, Sheikh Shahjahan.
