Mother and son attacked with axe in Gopalganj over water shedding dispute

A dispute over water shedding escalated into violence in Gopalganj, as a mother and son were viciously attacked with an axe by neighbors. The incident unfolded in Bucheya Mathia village of Sidhwalia police station area, where a heated altercation between two parties culminated in the brutal assault on the victims. Both the injured individuals were rushed to Sidhwalia Primary Health Center (PHC) for initial treatment before being referred to Sadar Hospital due to the critical nature of their injuries.

The altercation stemmed from a disagreement regarding the shedding of water, leading to attempts by neighbors to forcibly alter the landscape near Sonu Kumar's residence. As tensions escalated, the confrontation turned violent, resulting in the severe injuries inflicted on Sonu Kumar and his mother, Sunaina Devi. Following the attack, the injured duo was promptly admitted to Sidhwalia PHC, from where they were subsequently referred to Sadar Hospital for advanced medical care. Meanwhile, authorities have initiated an investigation into the matter, with police actively recording statements from the victims and probing the circumstances surrounding the assault.
