Tragedy struck Priyanath Ghosh Lane in the Chatterjehat police station area of Howrah, as a husband, distraught over his wife's suicide in her in-laws' house, took his own life upon discovering the empty home upon his return.
The deceased, identified as Tapas She and Rinku She, leave behind a seven-year-old daughter. Reports suggest a history of marital discord, with frequent arguments preceding this unfortunate incident, including a previous suicide attempt by Tapas six months ago. Rinku had sought refuge in her father's house in Sevdaphuli after a dispute on the day of Saraswati Puja.
The entire locality is reeling from the loss of the couple, with authorities from Chatterjehat police station launching an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic deaths.
