UPSC postpones civil service prelims exams due to LS polls

In view of the 18th Lok Sabha polls starting from April 19, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) postponed the civil services preliminary examination to June 16 from May 26. The annually conducted civil services examination by the UPSC aims to select officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS) among others.

"Due to the schedule of the impending general election, the commission has decided to postpone the civil services (preliminary) examination-2024 which also serves as screening test for Indian Forest Service examination, 2024, from 26-05-2024 to 16-06-2024," an official statement of UPSC said.

The admit card for the UPSC IAS prelims 2024 will be released at least 10 days prior to the exam. Candidates can download their UPSC Prelims hall ticket 2024 from the official website at upsc.gov.in using their registration number, roll number, or date of birth. The UPSC IAS Main exams are scheduled to take place from September 20 over a five-day period.
