Bollywood actor and Trinamool MP Shatrughan Sinha expressed his happiness upon filing his nomination from West Bengal's Asansol constituency on Thursday. Interacting with the nedia, Sinha remarked, "I have spent all festivals in Asansol. I spend nearly 15 days here every month. I emerged victorious with record votes last time, and we will try to break that record this time."
In the 2022 bypolls, veteran Bollywood star Shatrughan Sinha clinched victory in the Asansol constituency by an impressive margin of nearly 2.8 lakh votes, triumphing over BJP's Agnimitra Paul. This marked a significant turnaround, considering BJP's victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha polls by 1.97 lakh votes when Babul Supriyo, then representing BJP, had defeated TMC’s Moon Moon Sen.
