Following the Bengaluru blast at Rameshwaram Cafe, investigating agencies have revealed a chilling ISIS plot to target major election rallies attended by VVIPs and VIPs. The arrested terrorists disclosed plans to orchestrate significant incidents during the lead-up to the Lok Sabha elections, sparking concerns among authorities just days before the first phase of voting on April 19.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is intensifying efforts to identify an ISIS supporter known as 'Bhai', suspected to have assisted the perpetrators. Two arrested IS terrorists, Abdul Mateen Ahmed Taha and Musavir Hussain Shajib, have provided crucial leads, prompting NIA to widen its search across Kolkata and other districts in West Bengal.
Additionally, intelligence reports indicate the terrorists' intentions to escape via Bangladesh or Nepal, with sleeper cells mobilizing nationwide to execute potential attacks.
