In a splendid celebration of Ram Navami at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the iconic 'Surya Tilak' ceremony illuminated the forehead of the revered Ram Lalla idol on Wednesday. This event marked a significant milestone for the temple, following the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony conducted on January 22. As devotees eagerly gathered to partake in the festivities, the state government had meticulously arranged for elaborate preparations and stringent security measures to ensure a smooth and joyous celebration.
In anticipation of the heightened footfall of devotees, the temple opened its doors early in the morning, welcoming visitors from 3:30 am. The extended visiting hours, spanning until 11:30 pm will allow devotees ample time to offer their prayers and seek blessings on this auspicious occasion.
The highlight of the day occurs precisely at noon, as a ray of sunlight, known as 'Surya Tilak,' is ingeniously directed onto the forehead of the Ram Lalla idol through innovative arrangements involving mirrors and lenses. This annual phenomenon symbolises the auspicious occasion of Lord Ram's birth, occurring on the ninth day of the Chaitra month.
