PM Modi files nomination from Varanasi Lok Sabha seat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has filed his nomination papers from the Varanasi Lok Sabha seat, seeking a third term from the constituency where he has secured resounding victories in the past two elections. In the 2019 polls, PM Modi clinched Varanasi with over 6,74,664 votes and a commanding vote share of 63.6%.

His main opponent from the Congress camp is Uttar Pradesh Congress chief Ajay Rai, who is contesting against PM Modi for the third time in a Lok Sabha election. Rai has been Modi's primary adversary in Varanasi, a constituency set to vote in the seventh and final phase of the election on June 1.
