Kolkata bus owners seek relaxation of rules for 15-year-old buses, file petition in High Court
Will the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA return to power for a historic Modi 3.0 or will INDIA opposition bloc stop the BJP juggernaut?
NDA - 293 | INDIA - 232 | OTH - 18
Contrary to what majority of exit polls have predicted, the BJP-led NDA seem to be failing to reach even 300 seats. Their slogan 'abki baar 400 paar' is now looking like a dream. On the other hand, opposition's I.N.D.I.A is also not out of play as a few here and there might result in higher number of seats.
Parties like TDP and JD(U) along with the independent victores may play kingmaker. Surprisingly, the BJP alone is stagnanat at 240 seats. This means that the saffron party will have to rely on its allies to form the government.
Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal were big shockers as the regional parties - Samajwadi Party and Trinamool - turned to be the victors. However, there are still a few seats where the fight is close and NDA might just be above the majority mark.
While the supporters of opposition parties are out on roads celebrating their respective victories, it will be interesting to watch wether Nitish Kumar again chooses to change sides or Chandrababu Naidu opt to switch. Independent candidates may also come in fray.
