Vandalism in Howrah over controversial painting during Durga Puja; 30 arrested
BJP stalwart Kirodi Lal Meena has resigned from the Rajasthan Cabinet. He had promised to step down if the saffron party lost any of the seven Lok Sabha seats under his responsibility. His close aide confirmed this news today.
The 72-year-old BJP leader resigned as the party lost some seats, including his native seat Dausa. Meena had made the promise during campaigning for the Lok Sabha elections. "Kirodi Meena resigned as minister. He gave the resignation to the chief minister 10 days back," the aide said.
Kirodi Meena held several portfolios, including, rural development, agriculture and horticulture, disaster management, relief, civil defense, and public charge resolution.
In last year's state assembly polls, Kirodi Meena won from Sawai Madhopur as the BJP got 115 of 200 constituencies and dislodged the Congress, which managed 66.
