A case has been registered against Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra for her derogatory remarks against National Commission of Women (NCW) chief Rekha Sharma. An FIR was registered after the Women's Commission complained to the Delhi Police.
The Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) unit of the Delhi Police Special Cell will now take the X handle details from the social media platform from which derogatory language was used against Rekha Sharma.
On Thursday, Moitra commented on a video showing Rekha Sharma’s arrival at the site of the Hathras stampede. The video showed a man walking behind, holding an umbrella over her.
The video was shared on X, with a social media user questioning why Rekha Sharma could not carry her umbrella. Mahua Moitra responded to the tweet, saying, "She (Rekha Sharma) is too busy holding up her boss's pajamas".
