Speeding bus mows down pedestrian at MG Road more, driver flee
The recent case of hit and run in Mumbai by a BMW car is not going to die down soon. After the police, now the ruling party seems to be in action as it sacks Rajesh Shah from his party position. This comes a day after his son was arrested in the hit-and-run case.
Rajesh Shah, who was the deputy leader of the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena in Palghar, was also arrested on Sunday in connection to the hit-and-run case involving his son, Mihir Shah, in which a woman on a bike was killed in Worli.
Meanwhile, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday demolished the illegal structures of the Mumbai bar that served alcohol to Mihir Shah. The civic body thoroughly scrutinized and sealed the Global Tapas Bar at Juhu, whose bar manager had served hard liquor to Mihir, who is yet to reach 24 years of age, violating Maharashtra’s legal drinking age of 25. It then took down the illegal parts.
Earlier, the state Excise Department sealed the bar in Juhu visited by Mihir and his friends on Saturday night. The action to seal the bar was taken on the orders of the district collector for violation of rules, the excise department official said.
