West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee forwarded a helping hand to former state minister and RSP leader Vishwanath Choudhary by getting him admitted to SSKM Hospital for cancer treatment. Seven-time MLA and former Prison Minister Vishwanath Choudhary has been suffering from cancer for a long time and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
However, cancer treatment in a private hospital was becoming very expensive, due to which his family and party people were very upset. On Monday night, Mamata Banerjee came to know about this problem, after which she immediately ordered the super of SSKM Hospital to admit Vishwanath Choudhary there.
The super of SSKM Hospital immediately contacted the private hospital and arranged to transfer Choudhary to SSKM. Vishwanath Choudhary, who was the Minister of Prison and Social Welfare Department of the state from 1986 to 2011, is currently seriously ill.
This is not the first time that Mamata Banerjee has taken such a humanitarian initiative. Earlier also he had enquired about the health of ailing former Chief Minister Budhadev Bhattacharya several times and helped him in his treatment.
