No lawyer for arrested ISKCON priest Chinmoy Das's bail hearing in Bangladesh
Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat has announced her retirement from wrestling following a heartbreaking experience at the Paris Olympics, where she was disqualified after reaching the final. The disqualification occurred because Vinesh failed to meet the weight requirements during the second weigh-in on the day of the finals, costing her a confirmed medal.
Vinesh, 29, was the first Indian woman wrestler to reach an Olympic final in wrestling. The only other Indian woman wrestler to win an Olympic medal is Sakshi Malik, who secured bronze at Rio 2016.
In an emotional post on social media, Vinesh wrote: "Mother wrestling, you defeated me. Forgive me. My dreams are shattered. My courage is broken. I have no more strength now. Goodbye wrestling. I will always be indebted to you. Sorry."
Vinesh's illustrious career includes three Commonwealth Games gold medals, two World Championship bronze medals, an Asian Games gold medal, and the title of Asian Champion in 2021. A two-time Olympian, her achievements have left a lasting legacy in Indian wrestling.
