Kolkata bus owners seek relaxation of rules for 15-year-old buses, file petition in High Court
On Thursday morning, an elderly man, Surendra Kumar Sinha, aged 73, reportedly jumped from the fifth floor of Genexx Valley, Joka, Kolkata. Sinha, a retired non-teaching staff member from Magadh University, was found lying in a pool of blood at approximately 6:45 AM.
Sinha lived with his wife, daughter-in-law, and two granddaughters in Tower No 16, Flat No 5F. His only son resides in Durgapur due to his job. Sinha had been suffering from severe pain following recent dental extractions and was reportedly unable to sleep the previous night due to the discomfort.
Preliminary investigations reveal no signs of foul play. The incident was reported to the local police by the Executive Officer of HDV PS, who arrived at the scene and found Sinha already deceased. There were no complaints from the family or neighbors.
The body was taken to the hospital for further examination, and arrangements are being made for an inquest and post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.
