A man was shot dead in a brazen attack near New Town's Ram Mandir Island late Saturday night, prompting a massive police investigation. The victim, identified as Nasimuddin Khan, a resident of Bhangar, was ambushed by two assailants while having tea at a local shop around 10 PM.
According to eyewitnesses, the attackers arrived on a motorcycle and fired multiple shots at Nasimuddin from point-blank range before fleeing the scene. The critically injured Nasimuddin was rushed to Bidhannagar Hospital by bystanders, but despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
