India beats Bangladesh by 7 wickets in first T20, chase down total in 11.5 overs
India is doing brilliantly at the ongoing Paris Paralympics 2024 and Monday marked a victorious day for all the sports fans of the country. After the historic Gold medal in Athletics, two Silver medals in Badminton have raised the medal tally of India to 12.
Thulasimathi Murugesan, the Indian para shuttler, earned a silver medal at Paris Paralympics 2024 in the Women’s Singles SU5 category after facing a defeat in the final against China’s Yang Qiu Xia on Monday. With this silver, Thulasimathi took India’s overall Paralympic medal tally to 11 medals.
Thulasimathi, the top seed in the tournament, faced off against the reigning Paralympic champion and Tokyo gold medallist Yang Qiu Xia, and lost in straight sets. Yang won the match 2-0 (21-12, 21-8).
India’s Suhas Yathiraj got the silver medal in the men’s singles SL4 category in badminton at the Paris Paralympics 2024. He lost to France’s Lucas Mazur 9-21, 9-21 in the gold medal match at the La Chapelle Arena Court 1. It took the Frenchman 34 minutes to beat Suhas.
