Vandalism in Howrah over controversial painting during Durga Puja; 30 arrested
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that the World Test Championship (WTC) final for 2025 will be held at the iconic Lord’s Stadium in England. The match is scheduled from June 11 to 15, with June 16 reserved as a backup day. This prestigious event will see the top two teams from the WTC points table competing for the championship.
The inaugural WTC final in 2021 was initially planned for Lord’s but was moved to the Ageas Bowl in Southampton due to the need for a bio-secure environment amid the COVID-19 pandemic. New Zealand triumphed over India in that final, while Australia secured victory against India in the second WTC final at the Oval in 2023.
ICC CEO Geoff Allardice expressed excitement about the upcoming final, highlighting it as one of the most anticipated events in cricket. He encouraged fans to register early for tickets, noting high demand.
India and Australia lead the WTC points table, making them strong contenders to meet again in the final. India tops the chart with a 68.52% points percentage, followed by Australia at 62.50%.
