Kolkata bus owners seek relaxation of rules for 15-year-old buses, file petition in High Court
In a close call, a major train accident was averted near Saradhan Bangad village in Rajasthan's Ajmer when a goods train struck large concrete blocks placed on the tracks. The incident occurred late Sunday night when the train was en route from Ajmer's Phulera to Ahmedabad in Gujarat.
The loco pilot swiftly applied emergency brakes, preventing a disaster, and immediately alerted the Railway Protection Force (RPF).
Upon inspection, RPF personnel discovered a 90-kilogram concrete block on the track, placed deliberately in an attempt to derail the train. While the train engine crushed the block, breaking it into pieces, the timely intervention prevented a serious mishap.
This incident follows a recent sabotage attempt on the Kalindi Express in Kanpur, raising safety concerns. The RPF has filed an FIR against unknown individuals, and a thorough investigation is underway to identify the culprits behind this malicious act.
