YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has fired off a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing current CM Chandrababu Naidu of spreading outrageous lies regarding the famous Tirupati laddoo prasad. In his letter, Jagan labeled Naidu a “pathological and habitual liar,” asserting that Naidu’s allegations of adulteration with animal fat are not only unfounded but also politically motivated. He emphasized that such claims tarnish the sanctity of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) and hurt the sentiments of millions of devotees.
Jagan defended the TTD's reputation, stating that the Board operates independently and implements rigorous quality control measures, including e-tendering and NABL-accredited lab tests. He pointed out that all ghee used is subjected to extensive checks, and highlighted a recent incident where a tanker of questionable quality was rejected before entering the temple. Jagan insisted that these safeguards ensure the integrity of the prasad served to devotees.
The former CM criticized Naidu for his reckless statements, warning that such misinformation could provoke widespread unrest among Hindu devotees both in India and globally. Jagan called for immediate action from PM Modi to counter Naidu’s allegations and restore public trust in the temple’s administration. He stressed that these lies have the potential to inflict lasting damage on the faith of millions.
In closing, Jagan accused Naidu's government of attempting to distract the public from its failures by creating a controversy around the prasad. He reiterated that the integrity and quality of the Tirupati laddoo are paramount, urging a return to truth and transparency in the management of the temple affairs.
