North Kolkata filtered water supply to be disrupted on Dec 16-17 due to Tallah Pump repairs
A complaint has been filed against a portion of Sandip Ghosh's four-storey house in Badan Rai Lane, Beliaghata, accusing it of illegal construction. In response, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) sent a notice to Ghosh, scheduling an inspection of his property on September 30. Municipal engineers will investigate whether any part of the house was constructed unlawfully.
KMC officials Jeevan Das and Kiran Mandal, along with other staff members, will visit the house between 11 am and 5 pm to carry out the inspection. They will assess the structure and decide the next steps based on their findings.
Sandip Ghosh, former principal of R.G. Kar Medical College, has faced multiple controversies in the past. His involvement was questioned in the rape and murder case of a female doctor, leading to his resignation following protests by junior doctors.
Ghosh has also been implicated in financial irregularities at the medical college and was subjected to a CBI investigation. His house in Beliaghata was previously raided by the CBI, leading to his arrest in both the rape-murder and financial irregularities cases.
