Filmmaker Karan Johar received a warm tribute at the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards, as he was recognized for his remarkable contributions to Indian cinema. The moment was captured on video, showcasing his astonishment as Shah Rukh Khan and Vicky Kaushal announced his name. In a heartfelt gesture, Karan touched SRK’s feet before accepting the award, highlighting the deep respect he holds for his peers.

The evening was filled with admiration, with Shah Rukh referring to Karan as his "brother, friend, and partner in good times and bad." Vicky Kaushal praised Karan for completing 25 years in the Indian film industry and creating an enduring legacy, making the occasion even more special. As Karan stepped onto the stage, visibly moved, he embraced Vicky and shared a warm hug with Shah Rukh, encapsulating the camaraderie among the trio.

Karan Johar's directorial debut, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), set the tone for a prolific career, earning the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. Over the years, Karan has given audiences numerous blockbusters, including Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), My Name Is Khan (2010), and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016). His most recent directorial project, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023), also made waves at the box office.

In addition to his directorial successes, Karan has been a pivotal figure as a producer and distributor. This year, he co-produced Kill, which resonated with cinephiles, and also collaborated on Bad Newz featuring Vicky Kaushal. Moreover, Karan was the Hindi distributor for Devara, showcasing his influence across various cinematic ventures. His upcoming project includes co-producing Alia Bhatt’s film Jigra, further solidifying his legacy in the industry.
