Jr Doctors take out Maha Rally from College Square to Esplanade, traffic movement disrupted

On Mahalaya, junior doctors led a massive rally through central Kolkata, demanding justice in a case involving RG Kar Medical College. The protest, which saw participation from people of all ages, from eight to eighty, marched down Central Avenue, calling for answers from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Holding banners and posters, the demonstrators questioned the CBI’s prolonged investigation, chanting, "How many more days do you need? Answer, CBI!"

The march aimed to highlight not only the specific case of RG Kar Medical College but also to address the broader climate of fear and injustice that protesters claim prevails across the state. Participants formed a human chain, marching from MG Road to Central Avenue. Many of the protesters wore clothes with slogans written on them, including "We want justice" and "Justice for RG Kar," making their demands visible to onlookers.

Pictures of freedom fighter Pritilata Waddedar were prominently featured in the rally, with a bold message that read, "There is no place for rapists on this land of Pritilata." The symbolic reference to Waddedar underscored the protesters’ appeal for justice and dignity.

Doctors from various hospitals and colleges in Kolkata, alongside common citizens, joined in solidarity, creating an intense atmosphere of activism. This rally has reignited public discourse about the case and the state’s overall situation, urging the authorities to respond to the calls for justice swiftly.
