₹22 cr saree business scam in Kolkata: 30 investors duped, key suspect missing
In Dumka district, Jharkhand, where 26-year-old Sendo Devi took her own life by jumping in front of a moving train on Saturday. Hailing from Bagjhopa village, Sendo's tragic decision stemmed from her husband’s inability to purchase a new saree for the upcoming Dussehra festival due to their financial struggles.
Local authorities reported that Sendo had expressed her desire for a saree to her husband, who works as a tractor driver. However, with limited income and mounting expenses, he was unable to buy her the saree. Overwhelmed by disappointment and despair, Sendo left her home without informing anyone of her intentions.
The incident took place near the railway tracks in Dumka, where she committed suicide shortly after leaving her residence. Upon discovering the situation, the police were alerted and quickly arrived at the scene. Her body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death. Sendo is survived by her husband and two young children, who now face an uncertain future without their mother.
