The investigation into the bomb blast outside the CRPF school in Rohini, Delhi, has uncovered vital information regarding the incident, which occurred around 7:30 AM on Sunday. Authorities have confirmed that a significant quantity of explosives was utilized, resulting in a large hole in the school’s wall and extensive damage to nearby properties, including shattered windows of adjacent shops and homes.
Preliminary assessments classify the explosion as a directional blast, suggesting that the explosives were strategically arranged to maximize shockwaves. Investigators noted that the shockwaves generated by the explosion spread rapidly, creating panic among residents but, fortunately, resulting in no reported injuries. Witnesses described hearing the explosion from as far as two kilometers away, accompanied by a foul odor and a cloud of white smoke.
In response to the blast, the Delhi Police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) under the Explosive Act and have informed the Home Ministry of the incident. The report details the extent of the damage and the urgency of the investigation. Police officials are now working to transfer the case to the Special Cell for further scrutiny, collaborating with agencies such as the NIA, NSG, and Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL).
To enhance their investigation, the Delhi Police have sought information from Telegram concerning a channel named 'Justice League India.' This channel reportedly uploaded footage of the explosion, raising concerns about potential connections to the blast. The police are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify the three suspicious individuals captured before the explosion, including a key suspect in a white T-shirt who lingered at the scene on Saturday night.
Additionally, forensic teams are examining the remnants of white powder found at the blast site, with ongoing efforts to determine the specific type of explosive used. Investigators are also collecting data from mobile phones in the vicinity to track any suspicious activity around the time of the explosion.
