North Kolkata filtered water supply to be disrupted on Dec 16-17 due to Tallah Pump repairs
The School Service Commission (SSC) has announced the schedule for the second phase of counseling for upper primary teacher recruitment in West Bengal. This phase is set to occur from November 11 to November 27, 2024. This announcement follows the successful conclusion of the first phase, which aimed to facilitate the hiring process for aspiring educators.
Candidates interested in participating in the counseling can download their intimation letters from the SSC website starting October 24. This document is essential as it confirms their eligibility and outlines the specific dates they need to attend the counseling sessions. It is recommended that candidates download their letters promptly to ensure they are adequately prepared.
The counseling sessions will take place on November 11, November 14, and November 16. After these initial dates, counseling will continue from November 18 to 23 and again from November 25 to 27. The SSC plans to increase the number of counseling tables to accommodate a larger number of candidates, allowing for 600 to 700 participants to be called each day. This approach aims to streamline the recruitment process and address the needs of a substantial candidate pool.
Sushanta Ghosh, president of the West Bengal Upper Primary Job Seekers' Platform, has highlighted the importance of ensuring timely placements. He referred to a Division Bench directive issued on August 28, which mandated the employment of 14,052 candidates. Ghosh emphasized that the counseling list for 8,749 candidates has already been released, urging the SSC to confirm the remaining candidates by December 31.
The backdrop of this recruitment effort includes ongoing advocacy from job seekers who have been calling for a fair and timely hiring process. Their concerns stem from a desire for transparency and efficiency within the recruitment system, as many candidates have invested significant time and effort in their preparations. The recruitment process follows a ruling by the Calcutta High Court, which directed the SSC to expedite the hiring process for upper primary teachers.
