Headless body found in Malda jungle amid Kali Puja celebrations, Police launch investigation

A headless body was discovered in a jungle area of Gazole, Malda, shortly after the Kali Puja celebrations, sparking a major police investigation. The discovery was made on Friday morning along National Highway 512 in the Deotala region, where local residents initially spotted the lifeless corpse lying on the ground with its hands folded over its chest. Nearby, they found a severed head, creating a scene of horror that has unsettled the community.

Upon receiving reports of the gruesome find, officers from the Gazole police station, led by IC Chandrashekhar Ghoshal, quickly arrived at the scene. Police confirmed that the deceased exhibits multiple cut marks on both the hands and ankles, indicating potential foul play.
