Dilip Naiya, a 34-year-old resident of Bakultala village, was found dead with his throat slit outside a relative's house in the Singhirchak area of Raidighi, South 24 Parganas, on the evening of November 3. Local residents discovered his body around 6 PM and immediately notified the police, who arrived on the scene to investigate the situation. The police confirmed the identity of the deceased and began to gather information related to the circumstances of his death.
Dilip had recently returned home after approximately two months of working as a driver in Kolkata, where he was employed in the transportation sector. Family members reported that he had been married for around ten years, but his wife had left him to live elsewhere, leading to complications in his personal life. His eight-year-old son currently resides with Dilip’s elderly parents, who are facing challenges in managing the family dynamics. Relatives described Dilip as a hardworking individual who had not previously shown signs of distress or fear for his safety.
Following the discovery of the body, investigators launched a thorough examination of the crime scene. They found a woman’s bicycle near the location, which is now a focal point in the investigation. The police are analyzing the bicycle for fingerprints, DNA evidence, and any identification that may link it to a suspect. Additionally, investigators are conducting a canvassing of the area to interview neighbors and anyone who may have witnessed unusual activity around the time of the incident. They are also reviewing surveillance footage from nearby establishments to identify any individuals who may have been present when the crime occurred.
Law enforcement officials are exploring potential motives for the murder, including any financial disputes or personal conflicts that could have led to such a violent act. They are examining Dilip's professional connections and past interactions to determine if any unresolved issues might have contributed to the crime. A murder case has been formally registered, and while the police are actively pursuing leads, no arrests have been made at this time.
