A fire broke out at the Om Clark Hotel in the city on Friday morning, causing significant damage to the property. The fire reportedly started in the hotel’s kitchen and quickly spread to various parts of the building. Firefighters from the local fire department responded promptly and worked for several hours to control the blaze. While there were no reported casualties, valuable property and goods worth lakhs were destroyed.
The fire began in the early hours, when many guests were still asleep in their rooms. Upon noticing the flames, guests, including several families, quickly evacuated the building. The evacuation was conducted without incident, and everyone was able to escape the building safely. Emergency responders, including local police and fire officials, arrived shortly after the fire was reported and assisted with the evacuation and firefighting efforts.
Firefighters faced significant challenges in containing the fire, which spread rapidly through the hotel. The blaze posed a risk to neighboring businesses located in the same building, including a jewelry showroom and a motorcycle dealership. However, thanks to the efforts of the fire department, the fire was kept from spreading to these adjacent establishments, and no additional property damage was reported outside the hotel.
Fire Officer Anil Singh confirmed that the fire originated in the hotel’s kitchen but did not provide further details about the exact cause. The fire department's investigation is ongoing to determine what triggered the fire. Authorities are also reviewing the hotel’s fire safety protocols to assess any potential weaknesses or lapses in preparedness. The extent of the damage to the hotel’s structure and the total financial loss are still being evaluated.
