Social activist civilian shot dead by suspected terrorists amid high alert in Kashmir
Police have busted a fake document racket in Dhupguri, arresting three individuals involved in forging official documents, including birth certificates and government seals. The investigation began after a man submitted a birth certificate at Dhupguri Municipality for his daughter’s registration. During verification, officials found the document to be fake, with a counterfeit seal. The municipality informed the applicant, who then filed a complaint at Dhupguri police station, leading to the arrests.
During the operation, police recovered multiple forged documents, including fake birth certificates, counterfeit government seals, and other fraudulent papers. Municipal sources confirmed that the suspect had initially submitted a photocopy, which upon closer inspection, was found to have discrepancies.
Police are now investigating whether the racket extends beyond Dhupguri and if more people are involved in the production and distribution of forged documents. Authorities have urged the public to verify documents before submission and report any suspicious activities related to document forgery. Further legal action is expected as the investigation progresses.
