The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Trinamool Congress youth wing member Kuntal Ghosh in the Bengal teachers recruitment scam after being questioned for two consecutive days.
Ghosh is TMC's youth wing member from Hoogly, whose flats were raided by ED officials in connection with the case on Friday. Sources said that Kuntal Ghosh has been arrested based on material evidence.
As per the CBI, more than Rs 100 crore was allegedly raised by TMC leaders from job aspirants to employ them as teachers and staff at state-run schools across West Bengal between 2014 and 2021.
Tapas Mondal, who was president of the association of Bengal’s private-run colleges and institutions, had accused Kuntal Ghosh of raising money from job seekers during his interrogation by the CBI.
