The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is once again preparing to interrogate Tapas Mandal on the basis of the allegations of Trinamool youth leader Kuntal Ghosh, arrested a day earlier in West Bengal's well-known teacher appointment corruption case.
Tapas has been sent a notice asking him to appear for questioning at the central agency's office at CGO Complex on Tuesday. Both can be interrogated face to face. Kuntal has claimed that all this is Tapas' game.
Tapas Mandal, who was president of the association of Bengal’s private-run colleges and institutions and a close aide of arrested TMC MLA and former president of West Bengal Primary Education Board Manik Bhattacharya, had accused Kuntal Ghosh of raising money from job seekers during his interrogation by the CBI.
While addressing the media after the CBI interrogation, Tapas Mandal had said Kuntal Ghosh took Rs 1 lakh from 325 aspirants seeking a primary teacher's post but not all of them had got jobs. Mandal alleged that Kuntal Ghosh Rs 5 lakh from those who got the job of a primary school teacher.
