TMC MLA and former chairman of the West Bengal Primary Education Board Manik Bhattacharya gets relief from the Supreme Court in the West Bengal teacher recruitment scam case. On Tuesday, the Supreme Court has given relief in the case secured in the CBI investigation. The Supreme Court said that the CBI can continue the investigation, but will not be able to take any coercive action.

The CBI will have to submit its report after four weeks. However, Manik Bhattacharya is currently in ED custody and the Supreme Court has denied to intervene in that. The CBI was requesting to take him into custody. Manik Bhattacharya challenged this matter in the Supreme Court.

Apart from this, the Supreme Court has also given a stay on the decision of the High Court to sack 269 teachers. The Supreme Court, however, said that the court cannot decide on reinstatement in this case.

ED had arrested Manik Bhattacharya in the primary teacher recruitment scam case. He has been accused of being the mastermind of the scam.
