WB Govt Program has resulted in more than 10 lakh Cataract Operations: Mamata
After calling the state government a "langri (lame) sarkar", former assembly speaker and senior RJD leader Uday Narayan Choudhary has now raised a question about the Prohibition Act in Bihar, saying that mostly poor people, especially Pasi and Mushar community, are behind it .
"Danda chalane se kaam nahi chalega (only punishment will not work). Awareness has to be created," he said. "Most of those sent to jail are from poor people. We have to focus on creating awareness among them and not only punish them (for violating the law)," he said.
A couple of days back, Choudhary had called the Nitish Kumar government as "langri sarkar" and said his party leader and deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav will fulfil the promises once he will have full power (CM).
