UAE's Lulu group to open four more malls in UP, including one in Ayodhya

United Arab Emirates-based Lulu Group has announced the opening of malls in four more cities in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The group opened the largest mall in northern India in Lucknow last year.

During the Global Investor Summit (GIS), Lulu Group Chairman, Yusuf Ali announced the opening of malls in Ayodhya, Varanasi, Prayagraj and Gorakhpur in the coming days. Lulu Groups has decided to invest Rs 5,000 crore in a mall project in UP over the next few years.

Shortly after the inauguration of GIS, Lulu Chairman, Yusuf Ali said that while work on the mall is underway in Varanasi, projects in other cities will start soon. He said the group also intends to start a food processing unit in Noida at a cost of Rs 500 crore. It may be mentioned that the Lulu group has invested Rs 2000 crore in a mega mall project in Lucknow.

Lulu Group Chairman Yusuf Ali arrived in Lucknow on Friday with a group of UAE industrialists to attend GIS. He said groups are working on the idea of opening hypermarkets in many cities of UP. According to him, Yogi Government UP has been extended all cooperation on shopping mall projects. “After getting an excellent response to Lulu mall in Lucknow, we decided to expand to other major cities of UP,” he said.
