Termites damage currency notes worth Rs 2.15 lakh inside bank locker in Udaipur

Currency notes worth Rs 2.15 lakh were damaged and destroyed due to termites inside a locker of the Punjab National Bank (PNB) in Udaipur. The woman was shocked when she reached the bank and saw the locker.

The notes were completely damaged, after which a woman named Sunita Mehta, who owned the locker, complained to the bank's management authorities. She said it was the bank's responsibility to ensure that the items inside the locker were safe.

It was claimed that due to the bank's negligence and failure to carry out pest control, the items inside the locker were damaged. Almost 20 to 25 cabinets may have been infested with termites.

According to senior manager Praveen Kumar Yadav, information about the damage was passed on to higher authorities and the customer was called back to the bank to resolve the issue.
