Speeding bus mows down pedestrian at MG Road more, driver flee
Actress Kangana Ranaut was back on Twitter last month after a one-year ban and has been quite active on microblogging ever since. Today, she re-shared poet-lyricist Javed Akhtar's video on her channel and praised him. In the video, he is seen making a statement about the 26/11 terror attacks in Mumbai.
She shared a video in which she captioned, “Jab main Javed saab ki poetry sunti hoon toh lagta tha yeh kaise Maa Swarsati ji ki in pe itni kripa hai, lekin dekho kuch toh sachchai hoti hai insaan mein tabhi toh khudai hoti mein hai unke saa … @ Javedakhtarjadu saab.. Ghar mein ghuss ke maara .. ha ha."
On Sunday, Akhtar attended the seventh Faiz Festival organized in memory of famous Urdu poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz.
Responding to an audience member who told Akhtar to take a message of peace with him and tell Indians that Pakistan is a “positive, friendly and loving country”, the 78-year-old writer said: “We should not blame each other. It won't solve anything. The atmosphere is tense, this should be extinguished." "We are people of Mumbai, we saw an attack on our city. They (attackers) did not come from Norway or Egypt. They are still roaming freely in your country. So if there is any grievance in the heart of a Hindustani, you should not feel offended.”
However, both Ranaut and Akhtar do not have a good history together, as the latter filed a defamation complaint against the former in November 2020. He claimed that Ranaut lashed out at him during the interview when he referred to the "coterie" in Bollywood, following the events surrounding the alleged suicide of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput in 2020.
The Tanu Weds Manu actress also filed a counter-complaint against the poet in court alleging blackmail and intimidation.
