Speeding bus mows down pedestrian at MG Road more, driver flee
About four to five kilograms of silver ornaments were stolen from the famous Lord Hanuman temple at Kondagattu in Telangana's Jagtial district on Friday, police said.
Three persons, said to be in saffron costumes, are suspected to have entered the temple premises through the rear gate in the early hours of the morning and committed the theft, they said.
The ornaments were stolen from the room outside the sanctum sanctorum, they said. Although about 400 to 500 pilgrims were sleeping in the temple premises at the time of the theft, but the thieves were not suspected because they were wearing saffron costumes. Noting that some leads have been obtained to identify the culprits, Jagtial Superintendent of Police Eggadi Bhasker hoped that they would be nabbed soon.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who recently visited the temple in Kondagattu, announced plans to develop the temple complex.
