Samajwadi Party's two-day executive meeting begins in Kolkata

The Samajwadi Party started its two-day national executive meeting in Kolkata on Saturday. In this, they will discuss the party's policies and strategies for the elections to be held in three states later this year and the next Lok Sabha elections.

The national executive of the party is being held in Kolkata after a gap of 11 years. At that time Samajwadi Party founder Late Mulayam Singh Yadav presided over the meeting.

Party's national vice-president Kiranmoy Nanda said that they will discuss the party's strategy for Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh, and then for the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. He said, “It has been decided that TMC and SP will come together to fight the BJP.  Both the parties will maintain an equal distance from the Congress as well."

Ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Trinamool Congress and the Samajwadi Party on Friday agreed on unity against the BJP.

SP President Akhilesh Yadav said on Friday that his party was following a policy of maintaining equal distance from both the BJP and the Congress. Akhilesh had met Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee at Kalighat's residence.
