India's star javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra has once again made his country proud by winning gold at the Doha Diamond League on May 6, 2023. Neeraj's victory was celebrated by sports enthusiasts and prominent personalities, including the Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamta Banerjee, who tweeted congratulating the athlete.

In her tweet, the Chief Minister praised Neeraj's "marvellous performance" and referred to him as "our golden boy." She added that the entire nation was celebrating his victory and achievements. Neeraj's remarkable performance at the Diamond League has earned him his third consecutive top spot in the competition.

Neeraj clinched the gold medal with a throw of 88.67 meters, just 0.04 meters ahead of Jakub, who threw 88.63 meters. Anderson Peters from Grenada secured the third spot with a throw of 85.88 meters.
