Kohli and former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly, who also serves as the director of cricket for the Capitals, do not share a cordial relationship after he was sacked as the captain of the Indian ODI team.

In these videos, Ganguly is seen skipping the line as DC head coach Ricky Ponting talks to Kohli as part of the customary post-match handshake. Next, Kohli was seen giving a death stare to Ganguly, who was sitting in the dugout, after he caught Aman Hakim Khan. Fans are expecting something similar to happen at the Arun Jaitley Stadium  today when the two sides face each other.

Former India pacer S Sreesanth highlighted an interesting aspect of the match during Star Sports Cricket Live saying, “Match No. 50. Golden match of the IPL. This is going to be very exciting. DC playing RCB. No. 1 for me is captain vs captain. Virat Kohli vs David Warner. It is going to be a thriller to watch as DC just won a game and RCB is on the verge of taking on the best in the league.”
