Additional Chief Secretary (Road Construction Department) Pratyaya Amrit on Tuesday assured Chief Minister Nitish Kumar that the second phase of the Lohia Path Chakra project would be completed by June this year.

"Construction work is in full swing. All the work in the second phase will be completed by June,” Pratyaya told the CM during spot inspection of the project by the latter. Accompanied by Finance Minister Vijay Kumar Choudhary and Construction Minister Ashok Choudhary, the CM reached Nehru Road near the former Hartali More on Tuesday and conducted an on-site inspection of the ongoing construction work under the second phase of the project.

After the inspection, the CM asked the RCD officials to speed up the work and complete the project as soon as possible. "I personally watch this project every week. Deadlines were set for various jobs. There is no problem in execution at any level. The project, which will cost around Rs 391 crore, is proceeding as per its schedule. It will be completed in June this year,” Pratyaya mentioned in a report while being briefed on the CM's inspection.

“The Lohia Path Chakra project is very important. Work within the project is carried out based on the recommendations of experts. Once completed, it will facilitate traffic movement on Nehru Road, Boring Canal Road and Daroga Rai Road. When the project is completed, people from other places will come here to see,” Nitish said while taking stock of the construction work. Nitish also inspected the construction work of flyover and underpass near Fish Market on Daroga Rai trail. The CM also went to Boring Canal Road and supervised the work of another underpass that will start at the corner of Sahdeo Mahto Marg.

Earlier, Pratyaya had given the CM detailed information about the ongoing construction work and connectivity to various roads through a diagram.
