Noida Power Company Ltd (NPCL) has claimed that the work for setting up multi-point power connections in Greater Noida is in full swing as per the order issued by the UP Electricity Regulatory Commission (UPERC).

"So far, the multi-point implementation work in 18 companies has almost been completed. NPCL has sent notices to 134 companies regarding multi-point connections; So far, 88 companies have requested to maintain single-point connections," said the company's spokesperson.

According to him, NPCL recently conducted a survey of many companies in which it was found that 20 companies do not have the necessary infrastructure for multi-point connectivity. “NPCL is in talks with these companies and it is expected that the work of setting up multi-point connections in about 10 companies will start soon after building the necessary infrastructure,” he added.

The spokesperson further said that matters relating to four companies are pending before the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), while in four others, the work of setting up multi-point linkages is pending due to legal hurdles.

UPERC a few years ago mandated discoms to allow multi-storey residents to apply for individual electricity connections and pay the bill accordingly instead of using a single point electrical connection for the building and charging residents arbitrarily for their energy consumption. builder/company.
