Rahul Gandhi to kick off Congress's nationwide campaign against exam irregularities on June 17

The Congress has announced the first phase of a nationwide campaign focusing on examination irregularities, alleged paper leaks, unemployment, and issues affecting students and young job aspirants. As part of the initiative, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi will address a series of large student conventions beginning in Kota, Rajasthan, on June 17. Additional conventions are scheduled in Allahabad on July 10, Patna on July 11, and Delhi on July 14.

According to Congress General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal, the conventions will bring together students, competitive examination aspirants, youth organisations, educators, and individuals directly affected by examination-related controversies. The campaign is aimed at highlighting concerns related to examination failures, alleged paper leak incidents, recruitment processes, and access to educational opportunities.

The party stated that extensive outreach activities will be carried out through the National Students' Union of India, Youth Congress, Pradesh Congress Committees, District Congress Committees, and local units. These efforts will include physical and digital invitations, campus outreach programmes, interactions at coaching centres, universities, schools and youth hubs, social media campaigns, live screenings, and direct engagement with students across the country.

Congress leaders said the movement seeks to provide a platform for students and young people to share their experiences and raise concerns regarding examination systems and recruitment processes. The campaign will focus on issues that the party says have affected the academic and professional prospects of millions of young Indians.

Among the demands to be highlighted during the campaign are the decentralisation of NEET, abolition of examination fees, strict legal action against individuals involved in paper leak cases, and accountability in matters related to examination administration. The party also intends to seek a broader discussion on youth-related issues and educational reforms.

The campaign follows recent controversies surrounding examination processes, including the cancellation of NEET-UG 2026 amid allegations of paper leaks and administrative lapses. Congress leaders have stated that the party will continue raising issues related to education, employment, and examination transparency through public outreach programmes and parliamentary forums.
