In a brazen attack, militants targeted Manipur Police commandos inside their barracks in Moreh, firing rocket-propelled grenades (RPG) and causing damage to the barracks. The incident occurred hours after another unit of commandos was attacked on the Imphal-Moreh highway, resulting in one commando sustaining splinter injuries.
During the night assault, four commandos suffered minor injuries, with the attackers using RPG and engaging in heavy gunfire for almost half an hour. The situation prompted top officials of the Assam Rifles to fly to Moreh, imposing curfew and heightening security measures in the border town.
