Rajasthan Assembly Speaker’s France-Germany visit aims to strengthen legislative cooperation

Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani is set to undertake a seven-day visit to France and Germany starting Tuesday to observe parliamentary systems and deepen democratic engagement. The visit, facilitated by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, includes meetings with lawmakers, officials, and members of the Indian diaspora.

Devnani will study legislative procedures at the French National Assembly, Senate, German Bundestag, and Bundesrat. He is also expected to share innovations from the Rajasthan Assembly and participate in dialogues on digital lawmaking and social inclusion. The visit aims to foster international cooperation and strengthen state-level democratic institutions.

Calling it a meaningful step in global legislative exchange, Devnani said, “This visit is a strong medium to present India’s democratic traditions and state legislatures’ capabilities on the world stage.” He will also engage with academic institutions, science and tech experts, and Indian cultural organisations in both countries.

Accompanied by Assembly Principal Secretary Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Devnani will also explore cultural, historical, and spiritual sites to better understand local traditions, further adding a human and cultural dimension to the official visit.
