District Magistrate Durga Shakti Nagpal carried out a detailed inspection of government schools and Anganwadi centers across block sadar, including UPS Koreya Jungle, PS Nipaniya, PS Dhaurhara Khurd, and PS Boutha. The inspection focused on classroom activities, attendance of teachers and students, quality of mid-day meals, sanitation, and availability of basic facilities. Accompanying officials included DPRO Vishal Singh, DPO Bharat Prasad, and BEO Devesh Rai.
At UPS Koreya Jungle, the DM checked the mid-day meal, particularly the dal-rice served to children. She observed that the dal was watery and instructed the staff to serve thicker dal in future meals. To evaluate educational standards, she asked children questions and assessed their reading skills. She also verified the functionality of school toilets and confirmed the availability of drinking water.
At PS Nipaniya, the DM conducted a thorough review of attendance registers and other records. She directed teachers to maintain consistent communication with parents to ensure regular student attendance. She emphasized the need for home visits for children who remain absent for extended periods, aiming to bring them back to school promptly.
During the visit to PS Dhaurhara Khurd, the DM identified significant issues in the mid-day meal. The dal served lacked vegetables, had insufficient turmeric, and was not prepared in adequate quantity relative to the number of children present. In response to these lapses, the DM instructed the DPRO to issue a notice under Section 95-G against the village head responsible for the negligence.
The inspection concluded at PS Boutha, where children demonstrated the ability to correctly identify currency notes of various denominations. The DM rewarded students who answered correctly. Additionally, 1,291 children from 49 schools have been paired with nearby schools to improve access to education. For the next 10 days, principals and teachers of paired schools will personally escort students to and from their homes. Block education officers have been directed to monitor attendance and safety continuously during this period.
