A school bus carrying students collided head-on with a speeding lorry on Amta–Howrah Road near Makardah Chapatal around 8 a.m. on Thursday. Several students sustained injuries in the crash, while one of the accompanying teachers lost a hand. The collision left both vehicles damaged and caused traffic disruption in the area.
Local residents rushed to rescue the injured before they were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. Police have begun an investigation into the incident.
